THE CASES
The Smurl Family Haunting
Chris was the first investigator sent into the Smurl home, arriving before Ed and Lorraine Warren. What he witnessed shaped his lifelong
commitment to protecting families from both the phenomena and the exploitation that often follows it.
Ed and Lorraine documented the case in The Haunted. The basis for The Conjuring: Last Rites.
The Maurice Theriault Exorcism
Chris stood between Maurice and Bishop Robert McKenna during the exorcism while Ed Warren suffered a heart attack mere feet away. His
role extended far beyond the exorcism itself, deepening his understanding of possession as an intersection of trauma, belief, and spiritual crisis.
Ed and Lorraine documented the case in Satan's Harvest. The inspiration for The Nun.
The Snedeker Case
At twenty-four, Chris lived inside the Snedeker funeral home for nine and a half weeks, sleeping on the floor to stabilize a family enduring one
of the most terrifying hauntings in American history. An incubus case of extraordinary intensity.

Annabelle
Chris did not investigate Annabelle. He grew up with her. The doll resided in the Warren home throughout his childhood, kept under lock and
key and blessed by a Catholic priest. His relationship with the most famous paranormal object in the world is not that of an investigator. It is
that of someone who knows her intimately.

Amityville
The Amityville Horror was not a case file Chris studied. It was part of the fabric of his childhood, present in his life through Ed and Lorraine in
ways most people never experienced. He speaks to this case from direct personal knowledge.

The Arne Cheyenne Johnson Case
As a teenager Chris consulted with his grandfather Ed Warren on the case that made American legal history: the first time demonic possession
was used as a defense in a murder trial.

A NOTE ON CURRENT WORK
Chris continues to investigate active cases worldwide through the Warren Legacy Foundation, working quietly and without publicity. He
discusses recent cases in his lectures and presentations, always in general terms that protect the privacy and dignity of the families involved.
The Foundation's assistance remains free of charge and confidential. The work continues privately because the people involved deserve nothing
less.

WHO HE IS
In more than 45 years investigating paranormal phenomena across six continents, Chris McKinnell has documented one truth above all others:
the phenomena is real. What is not real are most of the explanations we give it.
As the grandson of Ed and Lorraine Warren, the real investigators behind The Conjuring universe, and Director of the Warren Legacy
Foundation for Paranormal Research, Chris has investigated more than 10,000 cases worldwide. His approach draws on psychology, cultural
anthropology, consciousness studies, and quantum physics. What he has found tells us something extraordinary, not just about the paranormal,
but about ourselves and the way we shape reality.

He does not chase horror. He does not traffic in superstition. He helps people understand what they are experiencing and reclaim the power that
fear took from them.
A LIFE LIVED IN THE WORLD
Chris McKinnell did not come to the paranormal through study or curiosity. He was born into it. The Amityville Horror and the Lindley Street
poltergeist case in Bridgeport were not cases he read about. They were part of the fabric of his childhood, experienced firsthand through his
grandparents Ed and Lorraine Warren. He began his formal investigative work at sixteen, assisting Ed on a violent poltergeist case. What he
witnessed set the course of his life.
In the decades that followed he lived and worked across more than eighteen countries on six continents. He served in the Peace Corps in Mali
under military dictatorship, studying animism at its roots. He meditated in the temples of Thailand, trained with the Kogi in the Sierra Nevada
jungles of Colombia, and worked alongside Jaguar Negro among the witchcraft traditions of Veracruz. He studied in Egypt, Israel, and Nepal,
worked within Umbanda traditions in Brazil and Portugal, and traveled through Europe during the fall of Soviet influence.
These experiences gave him something no academic training could: a firsthand understanding of how every culture on earth grapples with the
same fundamental mysteries, using different languages, different rituals, and different names for the same unknown.
People call him an expert. He disagrees.
"I do not believe there are any experts in this field. I am just beginning to understand. I stood on the shoulders of giants and hopefully I will help others to see even further."
Ed and Lorraine Warren changed their beliefs throughout their lives, constantly adapting to new evidence. It is perhaps the most important thing
they taught him. It is why he has moved beyond what they believed, not away from their legacy, but forward from it.
He is, as he says himself, a normal man who has had an extraordinary life.
